What we do
Advance and promote academic and applied research by MSU faculty and students on high-tech, bio-tech venture capital-backed entrepreneurship; on venture capital and private equity investments; and on the role that venture capital and private equity play in commercializing innovations.
Disseminate academic and applied research and core knowledge on these topics to our community of students, alumni, venture capital and private equity professionals, and high-tech, biotech university entrepreneurs. Engage our students in hands-on entrepreneurial and venture capital projects.
Reach out and build mutually beneficial relationships with MSU alumni entrepreneurs, venture capital and private equity professionals, Michigan and Midwest entrepreneurs, venture capital and private equity firms, service providers, and entrepreneurship-focused programs and entities at Michigan State University.
Actively collaborate with similar entrepreneurship and venture capital centers at our peer institutions across the United States and around the world on research, teaching, and outreach activities.
The director of the center is Dr. Zsuzsanna Fluck, associate professor of finance. The center has an advisory board of 24 distinguished professionals, serial entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, private equity professionals and 5 core faculty members. Every year the center selects MBA and undergraduate student associates who participate in the center’s initiatives, take leadership roles in its activities, and receive mentoring.
