MSU Team Selected for Baylor New Venture Competition Includes FMI Scholar

FMI Scholar Danny Meltser (BA, Finance, ’17) and business partner & fellow Broad student Jarett Lazare (BA, Marketing, ’17) have been selected to compete in the Baylor New Venture Competition on February 25-27, 2016 on the university’s Waco, TX campus. Danny and Jarett founded Bringitt which they describe as a cross between Uber and UPS. “We help parents of college students send things between campus and home with just the touch of a button on an iPhone,” Danny said.

Bringitt is just one of 12 companies whose founders were selected to compete in the competition finals for $138K in cash and prizes. Some 113 companies founded by students across the country applied for the competition. Following the initial application, 50 of them were invited to submit a 10-page business plan. Joining Bringitt as finalists are student teams from universities including Iowa, Purdue, UNC and UCLA.

Danny and Jarett are grateful for the support of Paul Jacques, director of Student and Community Engagement at Spartan Innovations.
